Fusion Homes Employees Renovate Local Shelter

WATERLOO, ON, OCTOBER 11, 2013 – Fusion Homes recently spent a day working together as a team to make a difference in the community. The company’s second annual Community Involvement Initiative saw people of all ages and backgrounds coming together for one common goal; to help those in need.

This year, Fusion Homes supported Reaching Our Outdoor Friends (ROOF). This foundation is committed to providing overall support to youth (ages 12-25) experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in the Waterloo Region.

At the shelter, the list of projects that Fusion Homes was to complete during their day on-site included cleaning and painting the interior of the shelter, updating the bathrooms and landscaping the front yard. In the dormitory, all beds were provided with brand new bedding and increased privacy. Additionally, the kitchen was deep cleaned and repaired, a washer and dryer were provided and two brand new commercial fridges were donated to improve the efficiency of the Lunch Box Program.

The Fusion Homes team took their role at the shelter the extra mile by improving the computer resource room and donating computers for youth to create and update resumes. An amazing new office for Outreach workers was created; which allows them to keep all of their supplies, which are given out to homeless youth, organized and accessible. In addition, a studio space was created for Street Design, a programming initiative which will allow for more youth to participate, learn, and flourish their graphic design skills.

Many thanks to all of the local businesses who helped make these projects possible:
